Like most of Florida’s First Coast, Moultrie Creek combines beauty and history. The creek gets its name from John Moultrie, Lieutenant Governor of British Florida in the 18th century. He owned a plantation at what was then Woodcutter’s Creek.
Today Moultrie Creek is my home. It is also the name of my business, its related blogs and books. Moultrie Creek – the business – celebrates family in several ways. Genealogy 101 is a Tumblr blog that spotlights useful resources and instructional material for beginning researchers. To help you tell the family stories your research discovers, Moultrie Creek Gazette offers articles on digital storytelling and managing your personal archives. Genealogical and historical societies may find The Society Journal a useful tech support resource. Then there’s the Moultrie Journal, my personal blog that celebrates my family, my hometown and the Creek. You’ll find the latest posts from each site listed here.
I hope you’ll stop by and visit regularly. You can subscribe to any of the blogs’ news feeds or follow them via Twitter: the Gazette and Society Journal @moultriecreek and Moultrie Journal @moultriejournal.
