Let Me Count the Ways
The Carnival of Genealogy, or COG, holds a special place in the genea-community. It is the reason there is a genea-community. Many of us met and became friends by reading, commenting and submitting articles for the various editions.
I don’t submit articles as often as I would like, but I always take time to read each edition “cover to cover”. My favorite time is early in the morning before the day’s events and challenges become distractions. Not only do I enjoy the articles and images, I’ve enjoyed watching as many of us have gained confidence in both our online and writing skills across various editions.
My two favorite topics have been the Swimsuit editions and the Family Car edition. Some topics have challenged me to expand my writing skills and many COG contributors have shown me how to do it well. Comments have provided encouragement and pushed me to continue. If that’s not community, I don’t know what is.
I have two favorite articles – The Episcopalian Levys and Cherokee Rose. I don’t know that either would have been written if not for the COG.
So what’s next? We definitely need another edition on cars! My family is/was car crazy and there’s still lots of good stories to tell. How about an occasional cookbook? Just before the holidays would be a good time to steal share some great family recipes. Whatever the topic, I’m looking forward to many more delightful stories and articles to help keep my research and writing efforts moving forward.
Thanks to Jasia and all who made this possible.

Oh, I like the idea of a cookbook edition. Good idea!
