Capture your contacts with Evernote

If you’re headed to RootsTech, make sure you’ve got Evernote [iOS, Android, Blackberry, Windows Phone 7 - free] installed on your smart phone. Combine it with your phone’s camera and you can easily capture contact data and lots of other useful information. Use the app’s Snapshot command to capture business cards, then tag them with name, company or event tags before saving them. A quick sync and that information is safely tucked away in your Evernote account where you can access it any time you need it. Don’t forget that Evernote OCR’s text in images so all that information is quite searchable.

Business card sent to Evernote from smart phone.

You don’t have to limit yourself to business cards either. Menus, book covers, barcodes, brochures and much more can be snapped and sent to Evernote. It will be there waiting until you get home and have time to sort it all out. And, you’re not lugging around mounds of paperwork just so you can review it later.

Yes, awesome conference management tool is just one of the many amazing things Evernote can do for you.

Great app! Thanks for the heads up. Unrelated to genealogy or research . . . I’m also a big fan of Evernote Food.
