Clifford Lucien C. Mickler was the son of James A. Mickler (1827 – 1878) and Teresa Catherine Weedman (1829 – 1890). His father died at sea and is buried in the Huguenot Cemetery. Census records show the family farming in the Tocoi area in 1860 but by 1880, Teresa had moved the family to St. Augustine with records showing them on Bridge Street in 1880 and Charlotte Street in 1885.
