If you have the Kindle reader app on your iPad, iPhone or iPod Touch, the recent upgrade has added audio/video capabilities to it. Right now pickings are slim for books taking advantage of this capability, but my guess is that will change quickly. Currently, you can read Rick Steves’ London – and other locations – with audio tours, Knitting for Dummies with video demonstrations or Rose’s Heavenly Cakes with video baking tips. Each of these enhanced books is currently selling for $9.99. Considering that Rose’s Cakes sells for $26.37 in hardcover, that’s quite a deal.
Now, if they could just include a button on each recipe to dump it directly into my cookbook app . . . My guess is it won’t be long before we see things like that happening too.
