I use WordPress.com’s stats service – through the Jetpack plugin – to give me a quick look at my site stats right in my WordPress dashboard. It’s a very nice service and a useful tool. This morning my mailbox was full of messages from WordPress pointing me to an Annual Report for each of my sites. Of course I had to check it out.
I was presented with an infographic providing all kinds of information about the happenings here at the Gazette. This image is just a piece of the presentation which included animated fireworks and details on where visitors reside. It’s nice to know I sold out the Sydney Opera House for 9 performances (although I think it will take a few more than 9 to be considered a hit show). WordPress.com has provided some very useful information in such a way to make even small-time bloggers like me feel important. I know much of this was done for promotional purposes, but the time and effort put into this presentation is yet another reason I’m such a WordPress fan.
And while my stats are small in the grand scheme of blogging, its quality, not quantity that keeps me going and I am blessed with some very high quality readers. I’m looking forward to a new year full of innovation in both research and publishing. Moultrie Creek Gazette will continue covering both those topics so stay tuned. It’s going to be a very exciting year!
