My grandmother’s trunk held many wonderful family treasures. Some were easily identifiable – like the letters my grandfather wrote her before they got married. Others obviously meant a lot to her but the rest of us don’t have a clue who they belonged to or why she kept them. Take the straight razor with the strop used to keep it sharp. I’m guessing it either belonged to her husband, Dolph, or her father. Unfortunately, there’s no one left who can tell me anything about them.
Your blog is a great place to tell the stories of these treasures. A photo and a few paragraphs is all it takes. Even if you don’t know much about something’s provenance, posting the photo with what you do know could attract a cousin with a bit more of the story.
